Daydreams of Seppuku - Finished!

I finished writing Daydreams of Seppuku yesterday.  Yay!  Since I started it in 1999, it feels like it has been a very long journey. I'll be posting snippets from it over the next few weeks.

Not So Intuitive Ads

Alright, seriously, what the hell?


Viewing my blog just now, the ads displayed with it were:


1. "The End-Time is Here!  2008 was God's last warning..."


2. "Immoral Sex Acts Taught in School!  Click to Sign a Petition!"


Really?  
Perhaps I'm off-base here, but I don't imagine my intended audience as overtly evangelical or overly concerned with other people's morality.  
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a bit of a leap to go from cannibalism to family values.

Poem Fragment

I had five journals of poetry from my high school days that succumbed to the waters of Katrina.  This is the only surviving fragment from that rather emo period of my life:

hugging myself tightly for companionship

my lies are of little comfort

broken promises to myself

like shadows pressing against my frail body

My blog is lonely and sad.

I'm taking a week of vacation next week.  It should be enough time to get Daydreams of Seppuku ready for publication.  :)

Alright, well, I held out for as long as I could.  It seems that I must blog.  At least it seems to be more fun than Twitter.
